How to network and database.
This article will focus on how to invite and database for your business. So let’s dive right in.
Who are you family, friends, business aquaintences, people in your community, who is successful, well respected, well connected, who do you know that is dissatisfied, people in your churches or at fundraisers.
Database these people and get their name email and phone number. While you are there and getting their information you might want to ask when is a good time when they have free time. You will want to make some sort of copy of where you are in their contact.
Don’t pre-judge anyone. You will be surprised in how many people will or will not be interested in your information.
One idea as you are getting started is to categorize your lift. You want to take your top 10-20 people that you think have the most success and are the busiest and set them aside then take the people that are on the bottom of your list and try to contact them first. That way you have some practice on the people that you think might be the least interested and when you feel more confident you can contact the top people on your list.
If a name pops into your head, call them IMMEDIATELY. There is some reason you are wanting to connect with them and you need to be connected with your intuition when you get a hit to call them.
How to network and database.
When you do get someone on the phone or have met them in person you have 2 key points for your invite for them to get more information.
- Be the messenger and NOT the message. You do not want to Vomit information all over the person that you are talking to.
- Peak their interest and then change the subject. Often they will come back to subject to try to find more information. An example could be something like. “I found something exciting; you have to check it out!” Keep it simple. A reply might be, “well what is it?” You can answer, “I want you to see this the way I did. It’s amazing and I don’t have the time to explain it right now” and say no more!
As you start to build your Database and are Networking you are in the process of building your backbone for your business. You need to get out of your shell and your comfort zone. You will be much more successful if you can just get out of your own way.
So just make sure that you be yourself. People will feel much more comfortable if you can just act like you normally do when you first meet them. That will be genuine and you will be respected more when you Database and Network.
